MARIETTA, Ga. - Miscues in the field sent the Lions past the Owls in game one taking the 10-5 victory over the hometown team at S. Walter Kelly Sr. Memorial Field Friday night.
Osbolt got into his groove quickly as he entered the fourth inning with no hits allowed. The junior was pounding the zone tossing 37 strikes on just 47 pitches.
A solo home run to right center from Columbia kickstarted the fifth inning, posting the game's first run.
Ryan Renfroe appeared out of the bullpen at the top of the fifth inning, inheriting two runners on the corners. The righty stopped the bleeding by recording two outs with no runs allowed including one punchout.
Kaden Brown ignited the quiet Owl bats with an RBI single through the left side, scoring
Cam Suto. The RBI chipped the deficit to just three runs.

Aaron Posey also to dribble a base hit through the left side, scoring the second run for the Owls. Correy Berry then earned a walk with the bases loaded to bring another run across bringing the game to 4-3 in favor of the Lions.
Another dinger in the fifth inning from Columbia to left field separated them again by two runs in front of the Owls.
There was a strong surge in the seventh and eighth innings for fresh pitcher
Daniel Powell who led the innings with no hits. The Owls used this momentum to add more to the scoreboard as
Kaden Brown singled through the left side earning an RBI for a
Cooper Williams score.

Chris Cole put a perfect bunt down the third base line to set up runners at the corners bringing up
Donovan Cash. Cash took the first pitch he saw and sent it to center field for the sacrifice fly, tying up the game 5-5. A strikeout from the Lion staff sent the game into extra innings.
The Lions scored five runs at the top of the 10th. After a hard-fought battle, the Owls would sadly fall short in the bottom of the 10th after trailing 10-5 to the Lions.
