KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State is set to open Bailey Park on Friday, February 14, as the Owls host the Kennesaw State Tournament. KSU will take on Northern Kentucky at 4 p.m. and Morehead State at 7 p.m. The tournament features Northern Kentucky, Morehead State, and Creighton. The Owls aim to secure their first win of the season after a challenging stretch in the Sunshine State.

Series History
The Owls have a notable history against Northern Kentucky University, boasting a 10-1 record in their all-time series. The most recent matchup occurred on April 12, 2015, where the Owls secured a decisive 14-3 victory over the Norse. Against Morehead State, the series history is similar, with the Owls holding a 5-1 advantage. They look to build on their strong performance against the Eagles this weekend, following their last meeting on Feb. 8, 2019, which ended in a narrow 6-5 battle. Meanwhile, KSU will aim to even the score against Creighton, who currently leads the series 1-0.
Swinging Fast
Despite a tough start, several Owls have provided offensive sparks. Sophomore Hannah Harvey leads the team with a .286 batting average, collecting four hits and one double. Ava Guzowski has also been a bright spot, driving in an RBI and tallying five total bases.
Stepping up to the Plate
Freshman Ana Gore has shown promise early in the season, batting .267 with two RBIs. Ava Brooke Strickland has added speed to the lineup, recording the team's first stolen base of the season. The young core continues to develop, and their contributions will be crucial as the season progresses.
Inside the Circle
Kennesaw State's pitching staff has been a key factor in keeping games competitive. Kenley Hilleary has logged a team-high 10.2 innings, posting a 3.28 ERA with five strikeouts. Emma Friedel has been a standout performer in the circle, holding opponents to a .185 batting average while maintaining a 2.63 ERA. Leah Jannakos has also chipped in valuable innings, allowing just two earned runs across five frames.

The Owls will continue to host the Kennesaw State Tournament through Sunday, Feb. 16, featuring Northern Kentucky, Creighton, and Morehead State.
