KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball concludes its three-game homestand on Monday with a rare 12 pm weekday tip at VyStar Arena. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ This will be the eighth meeting all-time between the two schools, but the previous seven took place during KSU's NAIA history, with the last contest coming during the 1989-90 season.
♦ Following the game, the Owls will break for exams before opening Conference USA play on the road on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at Middle Tennessee.
♦ KSU has always been a fast-paced team under Pettway, and that's not changing in his third year at the helm of the Owls. KSU ranked in the top five in the nation in adjusted tempo in his first year, and currently is fifth at 74.7 (possessions per 40 minutes).
♦ The Owls are also scoring at high rate, currently eighth in the nation at 94.6 points per game, which easily leads Conference USA. Senior guard Simeon Cottle meanwhile paces the league in scoring at 19.8 points per game, 33rd in the nation.
♦ KSU is having another strong year in the boards as well, ranking first in total rebounds per game (47.7 rpg) and 10th in rebound margin (+11.8) in the nation.
♦ It's been a strong year defensively for the Owls as well, currently fifth in the nation in field goal defense at 36.2%.
