12/4/2025 3:03:00 PM

KENNESAW, Ga. — Kennesaw State will open its 2025–26 indoor track and field season at two different meets this week. 27 KSU jumpers, vaulters and throwers will compete Friday at the Clemson Opener, while four KSU distance and mid-distance runners will race Saturday in Boston at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.

The men's pole vault, high jump and shot put begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Center. Group B of the heptathlon starts the day with the 60 hurdles at 9 a.m.

At the Boston University Track & Tennis Center, Britney Chatfield will run the 800 meters, scheduled for 11:12 a.m. Emma Sullivan will make her season debut in the elite 800 at 3 p.m. Collins Kipkemboi and Brian Limo will follow in the men's 5,000, slated to begin at 7:10 p.m.

How to Follow

Live video coverage of the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener will stream on FloTrack.

Live results will be available for both meets, with Flash Results covering Clemson and Lancer Timing providing updates from Boston.

Year Two in Conference USA

The 2025–26 season marks KSU's second in Conference USA. The Owls won both the men's indoor and outdoor team titles in 2024–25. The men's indoor squad became the first KSU team to win a CUSA championship.

KSU has 27 entries (14 men and 13 women) in the Clemson Opener, all in field events. On the men's side, returners Kenyatta Bennett, Simon Seid, Andrew Dassler, Evan Martinez and Chinedum Ike are among nine athletes making their season debuts. Freshmen Cameron Dean and Gage Voyles will make their collegiate debuts. On the women's side, eight returners — including Maya Steines, Kaylee Brown and Keira Hight — will open their seasons. Transfers Morgan Pepe and Myesha Hall and freshman Jakayla Arnold will make their KSU debuts Friday.

All-Americans in Action

Kali Terza and Emma Sullivan, Kennesaw State's two returning women's All-Americans from the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, are each entered in weekend meets.

Terza, a hammer All-American, will compete in the weight throw at Clemson on Friday at 4 p.m.

Sullivan, who earned honorable mention All-America honors in the 800 meters in June, will race in the elite 800 at 3 p.m. Saturday. She will compete alongside Tessa Busswell, Sami Oblad and Anne Elise Packard of BYU, as well as Chloe Symon of Washington and Tayissa Buchanan of Penn State.

Keep an Eye on the Clock

A strong field of collegiate and professional distance runners is expected in Boston on Saturday for the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, an annual meet known for producing record-breaking and national-qualifying performances.

Chatfield, who placed fourth in the 800 at last season's CUSA Outdoor Championships, will race at 11:12 a.m.

Following impressive cross country seasons, Kipkemboi and Limo — both from Kenya — will compete in the 5,000 at 7:10 p.m.

Up Next

After this week, Kennesaw State will not compete again until 2026. The Owls return to action at the Samford Invite and Open and the Vanderbilt Invite on Jan. 16–17.
