KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball is back home for a Tuesday night contest against Jackson State at 7 p.m. in VyStar Arena. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ Coming off an exciting victory at FGCU that gave the Owls the tournament title at the GEICO Coconut Hoops (Tarpon Bracket) during Feast Week, KSU looks to keep the momentum rolling as it plays three straight at home over the next week. Following Tuesday's contest is the annual battle against Metro Atlanta rival Georgia State, in a game rescheduled to Saturday, Dec. 6, while the homestand will conclude on Monday, Dec. 8 against Southern Wesleyan.
♦ Tuesday is a reunion between the head coaches on both sides, as KSU's Antoine Pettway and JSU's Mo Williams were teammates in the Alabama backcourt for two seasons (2001-02, 2002-03), leading the Crimson Tide to the NCAA postseason in both years.
♦ KSU has always been a fast paced team under Pettway, and that's not changing in his third year at the helm of the Owls. KSU ranked in the top five in the nation in adjusted tempo in his first year, and currently is 10th at 74.3 (possessions per 40 minutes).
♦ The Owls are also scoring at high rate, currently sixth in the nation at 95.9 points per game, which easily leads Conference USA. Senior guard Simeon Cottle meanwhile paces the league in scoring at 20.4 points per game, 29th in the nation.
♦ KSU is having another strong year in the boards as well, ranking second in total rebounds per game (46.6 rpg) and 25th in rebound margin (+11.0) in the nation.
