KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State quarterback
Amari Odom was lauded for his performance in the Owls' thrilling, 48-42, double-overtime victory at Liberty on Saturday, being named one of eight quarterbacks nationally to this week's Manning Award "Stars of the Week," it was announced Monday.
It is the second-straight week that Odom has received national recognition, making last week's "Stars of the Week" list and being named the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback of the Week.
Odom capped a terrific performance with two outstanding 25-yard touchdown passes in overtime to Gabriel Benayrd and
Christian Moss to lead the Owls to victory, a share of the Conference USA Regular-Season Championship and a berth into the 2025 Air National Guard CUSA Championship Game on Friday, Dec. 5.
He amassed 312 yards of offense, throwing for 240 (14-of-23) and four touchdowns and running for 72 yards and another score. In addition to his overtime play, Odom orchestrated multiple drives in the fourth quarter, including a 9-yard rushing TD of his own to tie the game at 28-28 to help keep the game alive for Kennesaw State.
The Inglewood, Calif. native recorded the highest passing grade in CUSA for Week 14 (89.7), according to
Pro Football Focus, and also ranked third in overall offense PFF grade (84.0) among CUSA QB's for Week 14.
The Manning Award was created by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in 2004 to honor the college football accomplishments of Archie and Eli Manning. It is the only quarterback award that includes the candidates' bowl performances in its balloting.

Odom and Co. will travel to Jacksonville, Ala. for a rematch against longtime foe Jax State. Kickoff of the 21
st annual championship game is set for 7 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network and the KSU Owls app.
