HUNTSVILLE, Texas. – Manu Johnsen and Olivia Burrage were unstoppable on offense on Saturday, leading Kennesaw State Volleyball to a 3-0 road sweep (25-22, 25-17, 25-19) at Sam Houston for its seventh straight win. That moves the Owls to 16-6 overall for the year and 10-2 in CUSA play, keeping them in a tie for third place and just one game out of first.

STAT OF THE GAME: The Owls limited Sam Houston to a .076 hitting percentage (25K-16E-118TA), while the Owls took the same amount of attacks but finished with 47 kills for a .271 hitting percentage.

OWLS OF THE GAME: Johnsen (14) and Burrage (13) combined for 27 total kills in the contest, two more than the entire Bearkats team.

THE RUNDOWN – The opening set was the only one that was in doubt, with nine ties and six lead changes. Sam Houston held a lead as late as 21-10, but four straight kills from the Owls put them ahead 24-21 and Burrage finished the set with a kill for a 1-0 lead. In the second set, a 7-1 run broke open the score, turning a 9-8 edge into a 16-9 advantage and KSU cruised from there. It was a similar story in the third set, with an 8-2 run putting the Owls up 17-11 and they would close out a six-point set win for the sweep.

POSTGAME QUOTES
KSU HEAD COACH KEITH SCHUNZEL
"Proud of the road weekend we just had. Last night we had to fight and scrap through a tough 5 set match. Today we played a lot cleaner throughout and controlled most of that match in a steady, methodical manner. We still had to play incredibly hard, which we did, because Sam Houston plays with great spirit and energy. But I thought our effort matched our execution today and for the most part we did a lot of nice, consistent things in all phases of the game."

NOTES
-Johnsen added 17 digs to record a double-double.
-Kaeley Walz and Kourtney Brown finished with 21 and 16 assists, respectively.
-Burrage also led the team in blocks on Saturday with six.

NEXT TIME OUT: The Owls close out their home schedule with a Senior Weekend series against first-place UTEP on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 7-8 in VyStar Arena. Friday's game will tip off at 7 p.m., while the Owls will honor their four graduation seniors on Saturday prior to the start of the 1 p.m. contest. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
