KENNESAW, Ga. – In just its second year a part of FBS and its first season of bowl eligibility, Kennesaw State became bowl eligible in its eighth game of the 2025 season on Tuesday night with a victory over UTEP. The win was KSU's sixth-straight overall and fourth-straight in Conference USA action to remain unbeaten in league play.
The Owls become just the ninth program to become bowl eligible in its first season of full-fledged FBS status, joining Sam Houston (2024), Jax State (2024*), James Madison (2024*), Liberty (2019), Georgia Southern (2015), Appalachian State (2015), Marshall (1997) and Nevada (1992).
With six wins now on the season, Kennesaw State also moves into the top 10 of most wins in second year of reclassification from FCS to FBS.
The Owls (6-2, 4-0 CUSA) could be eligible to compete in the College Football Playoff and its bowl games based on seeding, along with seven bowl games through Conference USA.
