Cottle, Johnson Shine as Owls Top West Georgia in Exhibition Action

KENNESAW, Ga. – After West Georgia had the first basket of the game, Kennesaw State scored 20 unanswered points and cruised from there, leading by as much as 28 before closing out an 86-73 win over West Georgia in men's college basketball exhibition action on Sunday afternoon from VyStar Arena.
 
Four Owls finished in double-figures, led by Simeon Cottle's 19 points off 7-15 shooting, 5-of-10 from three-point range. RJ Johnson was next with 17 points and six assists, while Ramone Seals and freshman Trey Simpson both added 10 points each.
 
KSU shot 43.8% for the game, including 47.1% in the second half, and held a commanding 50-31 edge on the boards. The Owls also knocked down 10 three-pointers for the afternoon.
 
The regular season for KSU will officially begin on Monday, Nov. 3, with a 7 p.m. contest in VyStar Arena against Paine College, in a game streamed live on ESPN+.
