KENNESAW, Ga. – The season opener for Kennesaw State basketball is less than a month away, and it's even closer to Owl Nation's first chance to see this KSU men's and women's basketball teams as the 2025 Owl Madness presented by COUNTRY Financial will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23. For the third straight year, the preseason basketball event will be held inside VyStar Arena, with doors opening at 6 p.m. while the event is slated to start at 7 p.m. Attendance is free.
Third-year men's basketball head coach Antoine Pettway and fifth-year women's basketball head coach Octavia Blue will introduce their 2025-26 squads, while Owl fans can expect to see several interactive fan events and contests involving both teams as well as the always popular dunk contest. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free exclusive Owl Madness T-shirt.
The Marching Owls, KSU Cheer and Scrappy will also be in attendance with performances throughout the night. There will also be student contests and fans can grab their very own autographed poster and take pictures with members of the teams. Fans will also get a sneak peak at the enhancements to the fan experience they can expect to at home basketball games this season.
The excitement is high surrounding both teams entering the season. The KSU men's squad was picked to finish second in the preseason Conference USA rankings, and the Owls bring back three starters for this season including the Preseason Player of the Year Simeon Cottle. On the women's side, a strong group of returnees and newcomers will be paced by Preseason All-CUSA selection Keyarah Berry.
Season and single-game tickets for both teams are on sale now at KSUOwls.com, and ticket staff will be on-site to help fans with their season ticket purchases and seat selections. Reminder that while supplies last, all season ticket purchases comes with a free KSU basketball jersey.
Both teams will start their 2025-26 seasons this November, as the men will open against Paine College on Monday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m., while the women will start with Shorter on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m., both games in VyStar Arena. The men will also play a home exhibition game open to the public on Sunday, Oct. 26 against West Georgia at 2 p.m., tickets for that contest are available now at KSUOwls.com.
