KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball is back home for a two-game homestand starting with the first-ever meeting with Sam Houston on Thursday night in the KSU Convocation Center. The game tips off at 7 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ Kennesaw State is back home for a two-game homestand after suffering its first two losses of the season on the road last week. It starts off with the first-ever meeting between Kennesaw State and Sam Houston on Thursday, followed by Saturday's contest against Louisiana Tech.
♦ KSU is 7-0 at home this year, and through its first 15 games, the Owls are 8-0 in the state of Georgia, 1-2 in Canada, 0-3 in California, 0-1 in Kentucky and 0-1 in Tennessee.
♦ The Owls' seven-game home win streak is currently the 45th-longest active streak in the nation. Sam Houston meanwhile is looking for its first win on the road since an 85-72 victory at Lamar on Nov. 17. The Bearkats are 2-7 on the road this season, and both victories came in the state of Texas.
♦ A huge difference for Kennesaw State this year is its work on the defensive side. A year ago, the Owls ranked 186th in field goal percentage defense and 263rd in three-point percentage defense. After the first 14 games in 2024-25, KSU has made a complete turnaround, ranking 75th in the nation in field goal defense at 41.1%, which is also sixth in Conference USA. KSU is also 69th in the NCAA in three-point field goal defense, allowing its opponents to hit just 30.6% of its attempts from three-point range.
♦ KSU has been pounding the boards this season, as the Owls currently rank fifth in the nation in rebounding at 43.1 per game, which paces Conference USA. They are also 34th in rebound margin at +6.8, second-best in the league.
♦ Guard Adrian Wooley is currently the sixth-highest scoring freshman in the nation at 18.3 ppg.
