KENNESAW, Ga. – For the sixth time this season, Kennesaw State's Adrian Wooley has been named the Conference USA Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon. This is the seventh total freshman of the week honor for KSU this season in the 10 total weeks of the season, and the third straight award for Wooley.
A 6-5 freshman guard from Tuscaloosa, Ala., Wooley scored over 20 points in both of the Owls' road games last week. He posted 24 points at Middle Tennessee on Jan. 9, and followed that with his first career double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds at Western Kentucky on Jan 11. For the week, Wooley averaged 25.5 points on 51.7% shooting, and was an impressive 89.5% (17-of-19) from the line. He also grabbed 16 total rebounds for an average of eight per game. Currently, he is the sixth-leading freshman scorer in the nation at 17.7 points per game.
NEXT TIME OUT: The Owls start a two-game homestand on Thursday night as they host Sam Houston at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
