KENNESAW, Ga. – Four Owls were honored on Wednesday as the Atlantic Sun announced their year-end women's lacrosse awards.
Both Lavona Watkins and Peyton Davis were selected to the All-Freshmen Team, giving the Owls a representative on the all-freshman team for the tenth straight season. Additionally, Hannah Barth and Julia Weiss were both named to the ASUN All-Academic Team. This is Weiss' second year being honored with ASUN All-Academic honors.
Watkins, a freshman midfielder from Johns Creek, Ga., was tied with Davis for most games played by any freshmen with 14 games for the Owls and for ninth on the team in goals with seven. She is also sixth on the team in draw controls with 11. Watkins added eight ground balls, two caused turnovers, and seven points on the season.
Davis, a freshman midfielder from Cumming, Ga., had a perfect free-position shooting percentage as she made all four of her free-position opportunities. She also tallied three assists, 10 points, four draw controls, two ground balls, and one caused turnover within the 14 games she played this season.
Barth, a senior midfielder from Herndon, Va., led the Owls in assists with 24, and earlier this season became the school's all-time career assist leader, finishing the year with 69. She also paced KSU in points with 53, while holding a 3.50 cum GPA as a marketing major. She ranked fourth in goals (29) for the team and draw controls (24), and was named ASUN Player of the Week once during the season.
Weiss, a senior goalkeeper from Mt. Airy, Md., led the team with 94 saves after starting all 16 games this season. She held a 3.97 cum GPA as a psychology major.
Weiss and Barth have both made the Dean's List each semester since being enrolled at KSU. Barth has made the President's List once in Spring '21 and Weiss has made the President List six times from Spring '21 to Fall '23.
