KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State baseball (14-11, 5-3 Atlantic Sun Conference) fell to Austin Peay (16-10, 5-3 ASUN) Friday night in game two of a three-game series inside Stillwell Stadium, 14-2.
Spencer Hanson increased his reached-base streak to a season-high five games while leadoff hitter
Brayden Eidson took a 2-2 pitch deep for his third home run of the season.
It marked KSU's first loss on a Friday this season. The Owls were 3-0 on the last day of the week entering game two of the series.
Eidson's blast put the Owls on the board in the bottom of the inning, 3-1, after the Govs scored in the top of the frame.
The Govs added two more in the second to take a 5-1 advantage. They added another in the fourth but damage was limited by a 2-3-1 double play by the Kennesaw State defense. APSU then scored eight in the fifth, sixth and seventh to push the score to 14-1.
Jackson Chirello pinched hit in the bottom of the seventh and singled to score
Donovan Cash to break the APSU scoring streak, 14-2. The Owls rally ended there as the Governors took the game two victory.
