ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis picked up a 4-2 win over UNC Asheville on Saturday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club.
The Owls won the doubles point and three singles matches to clinch the win.
Austin Miramontes and
Mikolaj Lis took care of Bruno Serra and Tarek Erlewein 6-4 on court three.
Joel Gibson and
Anthony Weingarten downed Freddy Murray and Sam Nicholson by a score of 6-2 to clinch the point.
Raul Garcia advanced the Owls lead to 2-0 with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Sam Nicholson on court one. UNCA then won a pair of matches to tie the score at 2-2.
Harvey Conway gave the Owls the lead for good with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Freddy Murray on court two. Mikolas Lis clinched the win for KSU by defeating Bruno Serra 6-2, 7-5.
KSU returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 28 to face Jacksonville State at 3 p.m. on the Betty Siegel Courts.
