KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team captured a 4-3 victory over Jacksonville State on the Betty Siegel Courts Thursday afternoon.
The Owls clinched the doubles point and three singles wins in the victory. KSU improved to 5-2 and 4-0 at home. KSU picked up its 10
th win in the series over JSU. The Owls are 9-2 in their last 11 matches against the Gamecocks.
The Owls secured the doubles point with a pair of wins on courts one and three. Freshmen
Austin Miramontes and
Mikolaj Lis picked up the win on court three (6-0) while
Raul Garcia and
Harvey Conway gave the Owls the point with a 6-1 win on court one.
JSU won the opening singles match to tie the match 1-1.
Harvey Conway picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win over Alin Fatu on court two to give the Owls 2-1. JSU answered right back with another win to tie it 2-2.
Sam Baldwin continued his strong play with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) win over Marko Milosavljevic on court five. The Gamecocks would then even the score at 3-3 with a win on court three. Freshman
Mikolaj Lis clinched the victory for KSU with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 over Matei Palcau on court six.
Next Up
The Owls will hit the road for the first of three matches in Texas next weekend. KSU opens the weekend at UTSA on Friday, March 8 at 2 p.m. ET.
