Opening Tee
KENNESAW, Ga. – The Owls will travel to the west coast for the second invitational of the spring in the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz. starting Feb. 23.
The history in this tournament has been rich for the Owls with just two appearances but with top two finishes. In 2022, the Owls won the tournament marking coach
Erin Thorne's first win with the Owls and the second-best team score in the coach Thorne era (+1). Last season, the Black and Gold finished second with a +23-team score in the 18-team field.
It was a strong start to the spring with a fourth-place finish in the Columbia Classic with
Lara Jecnik landing in the top 10. Jecnik was awarded as the ASUN Golfer of the Week for her three-over 219 individual score. This season is now tied for the most since 2021 with four separate Golfer of the Week awards.
Nyah Kelly has collected two,
Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman and Jecnik.
Returning to the course for the first time this season will be
Cameron Neilson. The 2022-2023 ASUN All-Conference Third Team will be playing in her first KSU tournament since April 4, 2023.
The fall consisted of steady performances for the Black and Gold as they never finished outside of the top 10 in their four events.
All three round will be shotguns start with Friday beginning at 2 p.m. ET, Saturday at 12 p.m. ET and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Next Up
The Owls will stay in the south and travel to Jacksonville, Fla. in the North Florida Collegiate March 4-5.
