KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team picked up a 4-3 victory over Samford on the Betty Siegel Courts Wednesday afternoon.
The Owls secured the doubles point with a pair of 6-2 wins on courts one and three. Freshmen
Austin Miramontes and
Mikolaj Lis picked up the win on court three while
Raul Garcia and
Harvey Conway gave the Owls the point with the win on court one.
Samford won the opening singles match to tie the match 1-1.
Sam Baldwin continued his strong play of late with a 6-4, 6-1 win over J.B. Pickard to give KSU the 2-1 lead. The Bulldogs would then tie it again after a win on court six.
Raul Garcia picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win over Maxwell Giddens to put the Owls in front 3-2.
Anthony Weingarten clinched the win with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 defeat of Maksim Bogdanovich on court four. Samford would win a three-set match on court two to close the scoring at 4-3.
Next Up
The Owls will hit the road to Asheville, N.C. to face UNC Asheville on Saturday, Feb. 24.
