KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball trip away from its home court continues with this week's trip to the West Coast, starting with the Owls' first-ever meeting with Santa Clara on Wednesday night. The two teams will tip off at 10 p.m. (ET) in Santa Clara, Calif, and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ The Owls continue a month of games away from their home court in Kennesaw as they have made the trip to the West Coast for a pair of contests this week, starting on Wednesday night at Santa Clara. Following the game against the Broncos, the Owls will then take on the San Jose State Spartans on Saturday.
♦ This is KSU's second trip to the Golden State already this season, as the Owls played at Cal Baptist in the opening week, and suffered one of their three losses on the season, 88-84 on Nov. 9.
♦ Wednesday's game marks the fifth straight game away from home for KSU, as their last game in the KSU Convocation Center was the 79-77 upset over then No. 24 Rutgers. Since then, the Owls played three games in the Western Slam in Lethbridge, Alberta, and then took down rival Georgia State in Atlanta 81-77 in Dec. 6.
♦ A huge difference for Kennesaw State this year is its work on the defensive side. A year ago, the Owls ranked 186th in field goal percentage defense at 186th and 263rd in three-point percentage defense. After the first 10 games in 2024-25, KSU has made a complete turnaround, ranking 21st in the nation in field goal defense at 38.3%, which is also tops in Conference USA. KSU is also seventh in the NCAA in three-point field goal defense, allowing its opponents to hit just 26.2% of its attempts from three-point range.
♦ Kennesaw State's 5-1 start to the season was the best in school history, while a win on Wednesday would tie for the most non-conference victories.
