KENNESAW, Ga. – Manu Johnsen picked up more awards on Wednesday, as she was named to the 2024 CUSA Volleyball All-Conference First Team, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
This is the second award in as many weeks for the junior, as she has named to the CUSA All-Academic squad as well. This is the third all-time conference recognition for Johnsen, after picking up first-team honors in the Atlantic Sun as a sophomore, and second-team as a freshman.
An outside hitter from Copenhagen, Denmark, Johnsen ranks in the top 100 in the NCAA (78
th) and is third in CUSA in kills per set at 3.80, and is third in points per set at 4.36, 76
th-best in the nation. She also ranks among the nation's leaders in total kills with 414, good for 38
th-best, and recently became the fastest player in Owl history to reach 1,000 kills, hitting the mark in her 76
th career match in a win over Sam Houston. Johnsen was key in leading the Owls to a fourth-place finish in their inaugural year in CUSA at 10-8, despite being picked seventh in the preseason poll.
