Top Storylines:
• Kennesaw State football wraps up its home schedule on Saturday when it hosts FIU on Nov. 23 at Fifth Third Stadium for Senior Day.
• Kennesaw State alumnus and football Hall of Famer Chandler Burks was named the Owls’ interim head coach on Nov. 10. Burks took the reins as the Owls’ interim head coach and is in his fourth season coaching at KSU.
• Burks joins 18 other FBS head coaches in leading their alma maters, including in-state FBS teams, Georgia Tech (Brent Key) and Georgia (Kirby Smart).
• Kennesaw State is coming off a back-to-back heartbreaking losses in overtime, dropping a double-overtime road game to UTEP before another overtime setback last week against Sam Houston.
• Saturday is Senior Day for Kennesaw State football, and the Owls will honor four seniors prior to Saturday’s kickoff -- DB/OLB Sidney Porter, LB Jalen Barnum, DB Austin White and DL Jordan Miles.
• r-So. RB Qua Ashley continues to be a force in all phases, currently ranked third in Conference USA in all-purpose yards at 997.
• Ashley is one of just three players in the country with more than one kickoff return touchdown on the season.
• Another bright spot has been the defensive play of r-So. LB Donelius Johnson, who became the first player in program history with 15 tackles in back-to-back games.
• Just over the last 14 games of his career, Johnson has recorded an impressive 100 tackles, 12.0 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks.
• Defensively, KSU co-leads CUSA with 10 forced fumbles on the season.
• Individually, r-Fr. DB JeRico Washington Jr. leads Conference USA with three forced fumbles himself.
