KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball continues a four-game homestand as the Owls host Abilene Christian on Wednesday night. The game tips off at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ Wednesday's game is part of the CUSA/WAC Challenge, and both teams are looking for a win in the Challenge after dropping contests in the first week. The Owls' only loss of the season was an 88-84 setback at Cal Baptist, while ACU lost at home to Middle Tennessee by 23.
♦ KSU's freshmen class has easily matched the expectations early in the season, as they combined for 75 points, and 68.2% of the Owls' total scoring production in the season-opening win over Toccoa Falls. Freshman
Adrian Wooley (14.8 ppg) and
Braedan Lue (13.5 ppg) and
Jamil Miller (9.3 ppg) currently are second, third and fifth on the team in scoring through five games, respectively.
♦ The Owls are flying in Coach Pettway's second year with the Black and Gold, as they currently are the nation's 10th fastest team (according to KenPom) and rank seventh in the NCAA in three-pointers made per game at 12.3. KSU is also 16th in the nation (as of Nov. 19) in points per game at 93.3, which paces Conference USA.
♦ This is KSU's fourth-ever game against a team from the WAC, with the last one before this season a 66-54 road loss at Seattle on Nov. 30, 2017. The only other meeting against a current WAC school was as a D2 program at Utah Valley (78-43 win on Nov. 21, 2003).
♦ Following Wednesday's contest will be a home showdown with No. 24 Rutgers on Sunday, Nov. 24, followed by the Owls' first-ever trip to Canada when they play in the Western Slam.
