Final Results 

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Kennesaw State men's and women's cross country teams closed the season at the NCAA South Regionals at Apalachee Regional Park Friday morning.
 
The women finished 13th which was good for a tie for the second-best best finish at the NCAA South Regionals in school history. The men's team secured 14th place.
 
The women were led by Emma Ferguson in the 6k race. Ferguson ran a time of 21:04.5 to finish 56th. She was followed closely by Madison Seiler who finished 61^st in a time of 21:09.5. Emma Sullivan took home 84th in a time of 21:43.4. Madigan Wallace (21:59.7) and Natalie Cummings (22:08.2) finished 99th and 109th to round out the scoring for KSU. The Owls finished ahead of Georgia, Miami and Central Florida among others.   
 
On the men's side, Collins Kipkemboi led the way for KSU placing 10^th in the 10k with a time of 30:16.0. Brian Limo placed 18^th in a time of 30:33.6. Kipkemboi and Limo both earned All-Region honors. They are the first pair of Owls to earn this honor since 2012. Diego Fernandes (33:14.1) and Matthew Hall (33:29.4) finished 118^th and 128^th, respectively. Grant Crabtree finished 140^th in his final collegiate cross country race in a time of 33:49.7 to close out the scoring for KSU.

On the Men's Team Performance….
"Congrats to Brian and Collins on earning All-Region honors. It has been a number of years since we have had not just one, but two individuals earn those awards. Our men's team finished 14th which is also our best team finish in many years. I'm proud of our young team and how they handled this race, especially with racing over 10,000 meters for the first time."
 
On the Women's Team Performance….
"Our women ran tough. We ended up finishing what we were ranked as a team. However I do feel really confident with how this team's future looks with Emma Ferguson and Madison Seiler leading the way."
 
On the Senior Class….
"Congrats to our seniors who raced today. Emma Sullivan, Madigan Wallace, Rachel Dodsworth, Natalie Cummings, and Grant Crabtree finish off their cross country careers with some great performances. These individuals have done a tremendous job of helping improve our program from what it was before they arrive. I owe a lot to them all and I am excited to continue working with them as we head into their final track seasons."
 
On What's Next….
"We will have to wait for the at large process to see if Collins Kipkemboi earns a bid the NCAA Championships next week."
 
Next Up
The Owls return to action on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the NCAA Championships in Madison, Wi. if Collins Kipkemboi qualifies. If not, they will be back in action on Friday (Dec. 6) when the indoor track and field season gets underway at the Clemson Opener.
