KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball returns to Kennesaw for a four-game homestand, starting with Wednesday night's contest against the visiting Bryan College Lions. The game tips off at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ Also included in the homestand will be games against Presbyterian (Nov. 16), Abilene Christian (Nov. 20) and No. 24 Rutgers (Nov. 24).
♦ It's a new look Owl roster this year, as just three players that saw significant time a year ago are on the active roster for this season (
Simeon Cottle,
Rongie Gordon,
Frankquon Sherman). They will be joined by transfers
Andre Weir (FGCU) and
Ricardo Wright (SMU), while the Owls also boast the 40th-ranked freshman recruiting class in the nation that is expected to make an immediate impact on the court right from the start.
♦ That freshmen class have easily matched the expectations early in the season, as they combined for 75 points, and 68.2% of the Owls' total scoring production in the season-opening win over Toccoa Falls. That was followed by another strong performance at Cal Baptist where they scored 31 points in their first road game against Division I competition.
♦ The Owls are flying in Coach Pettway's second year with the Black and Gold, as they currently are the nation's second fastest team (according to KenPom) and rank in a tie for 17th in the NCAA in three-pointers made per game at 12.5. KSU is also 19th in the nation (as of Nov. 12) in points per game at 97.0, which paces Conference USA.
