Top Storylines:

•  Kennesaw State will continue its midweek action, playing its first Wednesday night game as it welcomes former Big South foe Liberty in its lone home game between three road trips.

• Wednesday night’s game will be the fourth all-time meeting between the two teams, but the first since 2017 and the first as Conference USA opponents. All four games against each other have come as conference games with both programs previously being members of the Big South.

• Wednesday night’s game will also mark the fifth nationally televised matchup in Kennesaw State’s history and the third of four-straight nationally broadcast contests. The Owls will play one more game on CBS Sports Network before a Wednesday night affair on ESPN2.

• Wednesday will also mark the second conference team to play Kennesaw State coming off a bye. Half (four) of its CUSA opponents play KSU coming off open dates in 2024, including three of the Owls’ four home conference games. No other CUSA team plays more than two opponents coming off a bye overall or at home.

• The Wednesday night matchup will be between former Big South leaders in KSU head coach Brian Bohannon and Liberty HC Jamey Chadwell, who are both three-time Big South Coaches of the Year.

• A bright spot last week was the play of LBs Garland Benyard and Donelius Johnson.

• Benyard posted his first multi-sack game of his career, tying the school record with 3.0 on the night while also setting a career-high with 4.0 tackles for loss.

• For the beginning of Week 8, Benyard had a terrific PFF grade in defending the run at a gaudy 90.5.

• Johnson also set a program record, recording the first safety in program history to go along with seven tackles, while Sidney Porter led all tacklers with 10.

• In his last 10 games dating back to last season, Johnson has recorded 59 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
