KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State and FGCU meet for the first time this season on Friday night in a 7 p.m. Atlantic Sun Conference contest in the Convocation Center.
Friday is also the third night of the KSU Super Stars Player Cards Giveaway, as fans will get the third of four packs featuring KSU men's and women's basketball players. The game will be streamed live on the ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ Kennesaw State currently sits atop the Atlantic Sun standings with a 2-0 mark in conference play and is a perfect 7-0 at home this season.
♦ KSU is riding a two-game win streak thanks to a close win over Queens and a blowout victory over Stetson. FGCU meanwhile opened league play with a home win over Jacksonville, before losing a home contest to North Florida and then a three-point loss on the road at Queens on Wednesday night. FGCU has struggled on the road this season, having dropped six of seven this season.
♦ KSU has won three of the last four games against FGCU, including last season's 65-63 road victory in Fort Myers. The last time the Eagles won on KSU's home court was in the 2019-20 season.
♦ Under first-year head coach
Antoine Pettway, the Owls are playing at the fastest pace in the nation (according to KenPom). In addition, KSU also ranks sixth in the NCAA in fastbreak points (18.2 ppg), seventh in three-point attempts per game (30.2 per game), and 13th in scoring per game (85.3 ppg). Individually,
Terrell Burden is 13th in assists per game with 6.3.
♦ KSU is looking for a 3-0 start to ASUN play for the third straight year.
