KENNESAW, Ga. – It's time for Kennesaw State fans to mark their calendars as the first chance to meet this year's Kennesaw State men's and women's basketball team is just around the corner. The 2023 Owl Madness will be on Thursday, Oct. 19 and for the first time the preseason basketball event will be held inside the Convocation Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the event scheduled to start at 7 p.m., and attendance is free.
The Owls will take full advantage of this year's Owl Madness taking place in their home arena, as KSU fans will be treated to a dunk contest, a three-point contest, a team scrimmage and more! Free t-shirts (for the first 500 fans), posters and prize giveaways will all be available as Owls' first-year men's basketball head coach
Antoine Pettway and women's basketball head coach
Octavia Blue will introduce their 2023-24 squads. The KSU band, cheerleaders and Scrappy will be in attendance, while the event will also feature student contests and will conclude with a poster autograph session. The concession stands will be open as well during the night.
Anticipation is high for both teams coming into the season, as the men's team is coming off the first March Madness appearance in school history. The team will look to defend its Atlantic Sun title this season and brings back two key starters from a year ago, highlighted by ASUN Tournament MVP
Terrell Burden. The Owl women will feature a strong mix of returnees and newcomers to a squad that won 15 games a year ago, the most at KSU since the 2014-15 campaign.
Season tickets for both teams are on sale now at KSUOwls.com, and ticket staff will be on site to help fans with their season ticket purchases and seat selections
Both teams will start their 2023-24 seasons this November, as the men will play their home opener against Oakwood on Tuesday, Nov. 7. The KSU women's team meanwhile open their season on Monday, Nov. 6 at Vanderbilt, before taking on Life University in the Owls' home opener on Friday, Nov. 10.
