Series History
FGCU has the edge in the all-time series 3-6-2 but Kennesaw State has gotten the last two matches with the previous game being a 2-1 victory in Ft. Myers, Fla. Surprisingly, these two squads have not faced off since the '21-'22 season. The first all-time match occurred in Oct. 20, 2013 resulting in a 0-0 tie.
KSU has a hefty advantage over the Hatters all-time holding a 11-5-2 record dating back to 2005. The Owls have been on heater versus Stetson winning the last four matchups with all but one coming in Kennesaw, Ga. Last time out, KSU ran roughshod with a 6-1 win to end the regular season last year. It was the highest scoring affair of the season. They have outscored Stetson 13-2 during this winning streak and it marks the second four game winning streak the Owls have had over Stetson.
Scouting
After winning the ASUN last year, FGCU has picked back up in conference play with three wins over North Florida, Jacksonville and North Alabama. They hold at third in the standings at 3-1 with the only loss coming versus Central Arkansas, an undefeated conference team. They return former All-ASUN Third Team member Erika Zschuppe, who has netted five goals this season.
Stetson is currently in a three-game winless slide falling to North Florida and North Alabama. They tied last time out with Central Arkansas 0-0, giving the Bears their only tie of the conference slate. The attack is led by Annika Seem who has racked up four goals this season.
Atlantic Sun Successes
ASUN play has been kind to the Owls over the last few seasons earning at least four wins versus conference opponents each year since 2018. Dating back to 2005, the black and gold have accrued a 95-53-14 record versus the
ASUN. Head coach
Benji Walton has been responsible for a 31-13-6 record in his eight seasons.
The Tremendous Tianna
Tianna Rivera has been a mainstay on the attack for the Owls collecting 47 career starts. With her header goal on Thursday, she earned her 20
th point as an Owl becoming the lone player on the squad with the feat. Fellow senior
Kendall Hoskins also earned her first career assist kicking in the cross to Rivera.
On The Brink
Several Owls have surpassed major minute milestones this year including
Camryn Simmons,
Agata Giani and Rivera passing 3,000 played along with
