KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State football is back on the road this weekend as the team squares off with Charleston Southern on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. The Owls hold a 5-2 all-time record against the Buccaneers, with victories in each of the last five contests.

- Head coach Brian Bohannon was busy this offseason, hiring both a new offensive and defensive coordinator. New OC Chris Klenakis joins KSU from Liberty and has coached both Heisman winner Lamar Jackson and former NFC Champion Colin Kaepernick in his career. KSU's new DC Nathan Burton previously spent time as Georgia Tech's co-defensive coordinator and as a secondaries coach for the USFL's New Orleans Breakers.
- Saturday's matchup will break a tie between Charleston Southern and Monmouth for the most times KSU has faced a single opponent in program history. The Owls and Bucs meet for the eighth time in Kennesaw State's nine-year history, with KSU leading the all-time series 5-2.
- In its last five battles with Charleston Southern, Kennesaw State football has outscored the Bucs, 175-73. In last year's meeting, KSU earned a 30-20 win inside Fifth Third Bank Stadium and defensive back Markeith Montgomery broke the program's career interceptions record with a pick in the third quarter.
- The last time the Owls visited Charleston Southern in 2018, quarterback Chandler Burks etched his name in the Big South Conference record book. Burks ended the night with two rushing and two passing touchdowns to become the first player in league history with 30 rushing and 30 passing touchdowns in a career.
- Against No. 7 Furman on Sept. 16, Jonathan Murphy set KSU individual single-game records for completions (17) and passing yards (308). Murphy became the only quarterback in school history to surpass the 300-yard passing mark in a single game.
- Gabriel Benyard and Jonathan Murphy find themselves within the top three of two different FCS categories. Benyard is second in the FCS with four receiving touchdowns while Murphy is third in passing yards per attempt (16.00).
- The Kennesaw State offense has scored a point in 96-straight games and has reached the double-digit mark in 73 of the last 74 contests.
- In its 96 games as a program, Kennesaw State football has only been out-rushed eight times. In its 45 road contests, KSU has been out-rushed only six times.

- 117 – In last season's matchup against Charleston Southern, Gabriel Benyard set a new KSU single-game record with 117 total punt return yards against the Buccaneers.
- 70 – A victory would give Kennesaw State football head coach Brian Bohannon his 70th career win in nine seasons with the Owls.
- 37 – A Kennesaw State win would be the 37th non-conference victory in school history.
- 11 – Kennesaw State is one of 11 teams in the FCS to have not lost a fumble this season.

No other start-up program in college football history had more wins in its first five seasons than Kennesaw State with 48 victories.

The Owls are 49-7 when they score inside the last three minutes of the first half (37 TD's and 19 FG's). When KSU scores within the last three minutes of the first half AND on its first possession of the second half, the team is 31-0.
Fourth Down Success
Since its inaugural season in 2015, Kennesaw State has the most fourth down attempts AND most successful conversions in the FCS (minimum 100 attempts). There have only been five games in the history of Kennesaw State football that the team has not attempted at least one fourth down conversion (Point University - 2015, 2016, Presbyterian College – 2018, Gardner-Webb – 2021 and Tusculum – 2023).
