KENNESAW, Ga. – Monday marked the start of the 2023 campaign for Kennesaw State football as the team held its first practice of fall camp.
"We are doing things a little differently this fall and are trying to maximize the number of reps at practice each day," said head coach
Brian Bohannon. "I am excited about this group and all of the new things we have going on."
The Owls have 25 practices scheduled before opening the season against Tusculum on Thursday, Aug. 31 inside Fifth Third Bank Stadium. At halftime,

Kennesaw State will showcase a new offensive scheme this season led by offensive coordinator,
Chris Klenakis, who joined the staff in March. Klenakis brings over 30 years of coaching experience to KSU including stints at Louisville with Lamar Jackson and Nevada with Colin Kaepernick.
Defensive coordinator
Nathan Burton also joined Bohannon's staff after spending last season with the United States Football League's New Orleans Breakers. He was the co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach at Georgia Tech from 2019-21 and will be making his KSU coaching debut in 2023.
Kennesaw State enters the 2023 season as an FCS Independent as it begins the transition to NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and Conference USA on July 1, 2024.
