KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State's
Julia Weiss was named ASUN Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career thanks to a strong week in the net for the Owls, the conference office announced on Tuesday. She is the first Owl to earn weekly honors this season, and this is the first defensive weekly honor for KSU since
Errin Crowe on March 22, 2022.
Weiss, a junior from Sykesville, Md., came up big in KSU's first road win of the year. She collected eight saves in the first 30 minutes of the game while allowing just one goal at Delaware State on April 22 in the Owls' 19-4 victory. That was following a contest also on the road at Liberty in which she finished with six saves on April 20. For the week, Weiss finished with 14 total saves and a 56.0% save percentage.
The Owls, who have clinched a spot in next month's ASUN Tournament, close out the regular season with a Senior Day contest against Lindenwood on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
