KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State football is set to host its annual Spring Game inside Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Friday, Apr. 14 at 7:00 p.m.
Admission is free for the event and all seating will be located behind the KSU sideline under a first-come, first-serve basis. Superior Plumbing Gate A on the southwest corner of the stadium is the only entrance for the event and opens at 6:00 p.m.
Parking will be available in the Black lot and also opens at 6:00 p.m. on gameday.
During halftime the Owls and head coach Brian Bohannon will award the 2023 Ladarius 'LD' Clardy Memorial Impact Award to a member of the team that exemplifies LD's love for the game, the example he led on and off the field and his level of excellence. The Owls will showcase a new offensive scheme led by recently hired offensive coordinator, Chris Klenakis, who joined the staff in March. Klenakis brings over 30 years of coaching experience to KSU including stints at Louisville with Lamar Jackson and Nevada with Colin Kaepernick.
Defensive coordinator Nathan Burton also joined Bohannon's staff after spending last season with the United States Football League's New Orleans Breakers. He was the co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach at Georgia Tech from 2019-21 and will be making his KSU coaching debut in 2023.
Kennesaw State enters the 2023 season as an FCS Independent as it begins the transition to NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and Conference USA on July 1, 2024.

Spring Game Scoring System
The 2023 Spring Game features a modified scoring system. For the offense, touchdowns award five points and field goals earn three points while extra points, explosive plays (12+ yard run or 16+ yard pass), third down conversions and fourth down conversions are worth one point each.
On the defensive side, five points are awarded for turnovers. Three points are tacked on after forcing a three-and-out. A defensive touchdown or holding the offense to a red zone field goal earn two points each while third and fourth down stops each award one point.
