A FEW NOTES
♦ The Owls earned a No. 14 seed after a school-record season in which they became the first school to ever go from a one-win season to the tournament in just three years.
♦ KSU, who had never had a winning season before in its Division I history (since 2005-06), shattered the school record for wins with a 26-8 record.
♦ The Owls are the second-fastest team to reach the 25-win mark after a one-win season, accomplishing the feat in three years, trailing only the 2011-12 Towson squad.
♦ KSU is the only team in this year's Big Dance that is making its first-ever appearance in the tournament. The Owls were also the top 14-seed according to the official NCAA seed list.
♦ Friday will mark the third straight game, and both the fourth time this season and fourth time in program history that the Owls will be involved in a matchup of 20+ win teams. KSU is 3-0 all-time in games between 20+ win teams, with two victories over Liberty and the ASUN semifinal win over Lipscomb.
♦ The Owls have at least doubled their win total in three consecutive seasons (1 win in 2019-20, 5 wins in 2020-21, 13 wins in 2021-22).
♦ KSU has shown it's learned how to finish games this season, as the Owls are 7-3 in one-possession games after having gone 1-10 in the previous three years combined.
