KENNESAW, Ga. – Sarah Hendrick and Isaiah Rogers are set to represent Kennesaw State at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, N.M. on Mar. 10-11.
Hendrick will compete in the 800m and Rogers will compete in the weight throw for the Owls. To qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships, individuals must finish in the top-16 nationally in their specific event or top-12 in relay at the end of the season.
Hendrick qualified for the 800m running a time of 2:02.00 at the Bruce LeHane Scarlet and White Invite. That time set a school record in the event and ranks No. 5 in the NCAA this season.
She will run in the 800m semifinal on Friday, Mar. 10 and will need to finish in the top eight to advance to the final on March 11.
Hendrick returns to the NCAA Indoor Championships for the third consecutive season. She finished fifth in the 800m earning her First Team All-America honors in 2021.
Rogers will compete in the weight throw preliminary round at 9:00 p.m. ET on Mar. 10 and if he finishes in the top eight, he will compete in the finals that same evening. The Smyrna, Ga. native landed a personal-best toss of 24.37m (79'11.5"). That mark ranks No. 1 in the NCAA this season.
Rogers will be the first athlete to represent the Owls at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the weight throw.
