KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball will play back-to-back games against Jacksonville State this week, starting with Thursday night's 8:30 p.m. contest in Jacksonville, Ala., following by a home contest on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Convocation Center. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ Thursday marks the Owls' second-ever trip to Pete Mathews Coliseum. A year ago, KSU played the top-seed Gamecocks close for the majority of the game before falling 78-67 in the ASUN quarterfinal round.
♦ Jax State would go on to become the ASUN representative in the NCAA tournament, but it's a different Gamecock squad this year. All five starters from the JSU team that knocked the Owls out of the tournament are gone, and the Gamecocks bring back just 21 points from that ASUN quarterfinal game, 14 of them from starting center Maros Zeliznak.
♦ It's a key stretch for the Owls this week, as they look to keep pace with Liberty at the top of the ASUN with both teams posting 10-2 marks through the first 12 games, just one win ahead of third-place Eastern Kentucky.
♦ Through the first 12 games of the ASUN schedule, the Owls have been one of the top offensive teams in the conference. In ASUN games only, KSU currently ranks first in scoring (80.8 ppg) and field goal percentage (49.2%), ranks second in both assists (15.6 apg), scoring margin (+8.3), and three-point percentage (37.4%).
♦ Senior Terrell Burden is 13 points away from becoming the 21st Owl to score 1,000 career points.
