Quotable
Director of Track and Field Cale McDaniel on the Owls performances at a trio of meets
"Really cool weekend and opportunity for us to go in three different directions as a team and have success across the board.
Kyarra Newton is a fantastic young woman that has battled through some injuries off and on in her time here. For her to go and compete as well as she did in the pentathlon on Friday was a huge tribute to what kind of person she is. The group in Boston was lights out from the first gun and I couldn't be proud of their effort. The DMR school record, three new personal bests in the women's 800m, and
Sarah Hendrick sitting number two in the country certainly makes it a successful trip. A large group went to Virginia Tech and man they competed their butts off as well. The Men's 60m and weight throw events both showed out with numerous personal bests while the lady 60m hurdles did the same thing. I want to give a shout out to freshman
Chance Cross,
Simon Seid and
Ansley Guy for continuing to impress in their rookie debuts! I can't wait to have our team back together for what looks to be one heck of a meet at Vanderbilt next weekend. The Owls are coming.

Next Up
The Owls will head to Nashville for the Music City Challenge on Feb. 10-11 hosted by Vanderbilt.
