LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Kennesaw State men's and women's track and field teams began competition on day one of the ASUN Indoor Championships on Friday.

Men's Heptathlon (Through four events) 

• Jordan Fick sits in third with 2,818 points. 

• He finished top five in all four events including third in the long jump. 

Women's Pentathlon (Completed) 

• Kyarra Newton scored 3,448 points to finish seventh. 

• She won the high jump clearing 1.67m (5'5.75"). 

Men's Medal Winners 

• Simon Seid became the second KSU freshman to win the pole vault. He cleared 5.12m (16'09.50") - good for second in program history. 

• Seid was joined on the podium by AJ Johnson who grabbed the silver medal with a clearance of 5.02m (16.5.50"). 

• Kaelen Mitchell was victorious in the long jump with a with a leap of 7.19m (23'7.25"). 

• Kelvin Campbell collected the bronze medal with a mark of 6.99m (22'11.25") in the long jump. 

• Isaiah Rogers shattered the ASUN men's indoor championship record in the weight throw with a toss of 23.14m (75'11") to secure the gold medal. 

• Anthony Harrison landed a personal-best toss of 21.79m (69'10.75") to grab second behind Rogers. 

Women's Medal Winners 

• The women's distance medley relay team of Sarah Hendrick, Caroline Timm, Britney Chatfield and Natalie Cummings won the gold medal with a time of 11:36.67 which is good for second in both KSU program history and ASUN Indoor Championship history.  

• Eriana Sanford landed a toss of (61'1.25) while Kali Terza added a mark of 18.08m (59'4.00") to finish second and third, respectively, in the weight throw. 

• Tayla Moreland collected the bronze medal in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.79m (19'0.00"). 

• Mollie Speights cleared 1.68m (5'6") to take home the silver medal in the high jump. 

  

Men's Running Event Qualifiers 

• Malik Hussie (48.33 seconds) and Sparticus Griffin (48.72 seconds) advanced to Saturday's 400m final. 

• Nicholas Mabilo (6.80 seconds), Tyriq Hussie (6.81 seconds), Xavier Paris (6.85 seconds) and Chance Cross (6.87 seconds) ran their way to the men's 60m final. 

• Malik Hussie (21.45 seconds), Chance Cross (21.66 seconds) and Aaron Goodwin (21.74 seconds) will represent KSU in the men's 200m final. 

Women's Running Event Qualifiers 

• Sarah Hendrick (4:47.78) and Caroline Timm (4:49.20) moved on to Saturday's final in the one-mile run. 

• Olivia Brown (8.48 seconds) and Corbin McLean (8.51 seconds) both qualified for the 60m hurdle final. 

• Britney Chatfield ran a personal-best time of 56.82 seconds in the 400m to advance to the final. 

• Jalurah Moore (7.58 seconds) and Corbin McLean (7.60 seconds) qualified for the 60m final. 

• Natalie Cummings ran a time of 2:10.84 to finish second. 

• McLean will also represent KSU in the 200m final after she posted a time of 24.53 seconds in the prelims.
