NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Kennesaw State track and field teams opened competition at the Music City Challenge on Friday.
School Record
- Caroline Timm ran a time of 4:36:30 to establish a new school-record time in the one-mile run.
Event Wins
- Simon Seid won the men's open pole vault with a clearance of 4.90m (16'0.75").
Men's Top Performances
- Juan Cavazos II cleared 2.06m (6'9") to take third in the open high jump.
- Stephen Smith got over the bar at 4.80m (15'9") to take runner-up to Seid in the open pole vault.
- Sultan Simms cleared the bar at 2.10m (6'10.75) to take fifth in the invite high jump.
- Isaiah Rogers landed a toss of 23.69m (77'8.75") to secure third in the weight throw invite.
- AJ Johnson cleared 4.93m (16'2") taking fifth in the pole vault invite.
- Chance Cross finished eighth in the 200m with a personal-best time of 21.58 seconds.
Women's Top Performances
- Kaylee Brown tied for third in the open high jump with a clearance of 1.63m (5'4.25").
- Kali Terza landed a toss of 19.00m (62'4") to take eighth in the open weight throw.
- Tayla Moreland posted a mark of 5.63m (18'5.75") in the invite long jump to take home seventh.
- Taylor Hampton had a leap of 5.87m (19'3.25") securing fifth in the open long jump.
Former Owls
- Daniel Haugh won the weight throw invite with a toss of 24.89m (81'8"). That mark ranks first in the USA this season.
