ATLANTA - Impressive statistical Decembers for Prencis Harden and Trynce Taylor continued with the duo earning Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors, respectively, the league office announced Wednesday.

This marks the third time in program history that Kennesaw State women's basketball has received multiple Atlantic Sun Conference weekly honors in a single week and first since Mar. 8, 2021.

At the West Palm Beach Classic, Harden tallied 37 total points against San Diego State (Dec. 20) and Providence (Dec. 21). In game one against the Aztecs, she recorded her second-career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Harden had seven points during a dominant 22-1 run to help the Owls defeat the Providence Friars Thursday, 53-51. She scored two go-ahead free throws with under one second remaining to lift Kennesaw State to its second Power Six victory in program history and first since Dec. 22, 2014 (61-60 over Xavier). The junior finished the game with 23 points, eight rebounds and two steals.

The Swainsboro, Ga. native leads KSU with 135 points this season. She has posted four-consecutive double-digit-scoring games and six in her last seven.

This marks the 19th Atlantic Sun Player of the Week award for Kennesaw State and first since Feb. 14, 2022 (Amani Johnson).

Taylor recorded 22 points last week against the Aztecs and Friars with 12 rebounds. She shot 62.5% from the floor. 15 of her 22 points came in game one against San Diego State. The freshman has 79 points this season and three games in double figures.

The Alpharetta, Ga. native has played at least 23 minutes in each of the last four games. She had 28 and 29 minutes played in games one and two, respectively, at the West Palm Beach Classic.

So far this month, the two have combined for 133 points, 64 rebounds, 18 steals, 56.3% shooting and six double-digit-scoring games.

Taylor is the second Owl to earn ASUN Freshman of the Week accolades this season, joining fellow freshman Sophia Rueppell who earned the award on Dec. 4. Wednesday's announcement mark the second and third weekly honors for Kennesaw State women's basketball this year, its final in the Atlantic Sun Conference before joining Conference USA on July 1, 2024.

The Owls return to action Thursday, Dec. 28 for the final non-conference regular season home game against the Big East Conferences' Georgetown Hoyas.
