KENNESAW, Ga. – Saturday concludes the third of three straight games for Kennesaw State men's basketball against the Big South, as the Owls make the trip up to the Palmetto State for the second consecutive weekend for a contest at Presbyterian in Clinton. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
The game will tip off at 2 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ The Owls have already posted wins over Big South favorite UNC Asheville at home and a road win at USC Upstate last weekend. Another game against the BCS awaits the Owls, who will make a return trip to UNC Asheville on Dec. 23. KSU has won its last six against teams currently in the Big South.
♦ Under first-year head coach
Antoine Pettway, the Owls are playing at the fastest pace in the nation (according to KenPom). In addition, KSU also ranks fifth in the NCAA in fastbreak points (19.9 ppg), seventh in three-point attempts per game (30.3 per game), and tenth in rebounds per game (44.0 rpg). Individually,
Demond Robinson is seventh in the nation in offensive rebounds per contest at 4.1 rpg, while
Terrell Burden is 24th in assists per game with 5.9.
♦ For the first time in school history, the Owls enter the season with a target on their backs, coming off the first-ever winning season in the school's Division I history. KSU finished off 2022-23 with a 26-9 overall mark, shattering the previous record for most wins in a season by 12 (14). The Owls also won the first-ever Atlantic Sun Conference regular season and tournament titles in school history, while reaching the NCAA Tournament for the first time at the Division I level as well.
