KENNESAW, Ga. – It's going to be a banner night at Kennesaw State on Tuesday as the Owls will both officially open the Antoine Pettway era and raise the Atlantic Sun and NCAA Championship men's basketball banner from the 2022-23 season just prior to the contest against Oakwood University. Tuesday's opener will tip off at 7 p.m. on ESPN+ in the Convocation Center, with the banner ceremony scheduled for just prior to the national anthem. There will also be free pizza for the first 500 students, and a schedule poster giveaway for all fans as well.

 A FEW NOTES
♦ It's going to be a banner night at Kennesaw State on Tuesday as the Owls will both officially open the Antoine Pettway era and raise the Atlantic Sun and NCAA Championship banner from the 2022-23 season just prior to the contest against Oakwood.
♦ For the first time in school history, the Owls enter the season with a target on their backs, coming off the first-ever winning season in the school's Division I history. KSU finished off last season with a 26-9 overall mark, shattering the previous record for most wins in a season by 12 (14).
♦ Pettway took over as the Owls coach in April of this year, and Tuesday will be the first-ever game for the Alabama native as a head coach after spending the past 15 years on the Alabama coaching staff. He quickly got the Owls ready for a title defense after bringing in a four-member freshmen class that ranked in the top 65 in the nation and easily was the top in the ASUN. Highlighting the class was four-star recruit RJ Johnson.
♦ In addition, Pettway brought in four Division I transfers in Rongie Gordon (UAB), Jamel King (West Virginia), Delaney Heard (Alabama) and Jusaun Holt (Georgia).
♦ The Owls will play two of their first three games at home in the Convocation Center, starting with Tuesday's opener against Oakwood University. They will play five more away from Kennesaw. That includes Friday's contest at ACC member Florida State, three games in the East Carolina Townebank Holiday Classic, and a contest at future Conference USA rival FIU.
