KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State overcame a slow shooting start by hitting 55% from the floor in the second half, running away from Keiser after halftime on the way to a 101-55 victory on Wednesday night in men's college basketball action.
STAT OF THE GAME: The Owls' (2-1) pace on offense was too much for Keiser, leading to a 40-4 edge on fast break points for KSU.
ROCK SOLID PLAYER OF THE GAME: Rongie Gordon just missed out on a double-double, thanks to eight points and a game-high 14 rebounds. He was part of a KSU effort that grabbed 63 rebounds, just one off the school record the Owls set in the season-opener against Oakwood.
THE FIRST HALF: While the Owls surpassed the century mark for the first time since the 2021-22 season, it was a low scoring game at the start, as the teams were knotted at six apiece just under seven minutes into the contest. It was still a one-possession game, 25-22 with 4:25 to play, before the Owls scored 21 points over the final four minutes to open up a 46-29 halftime advantage.
THE SECOND HALF: KSU kept the scoring run going in the second half, as a trey from
Quincy Ademokoya capped a 27-6 spurt in the final 10 minutes. The lead grew as high as 50 before ending in the 46-point victory.
