KENNESAW, Ga. – For the second time in three weeks, two Owls picked up weekly conference honors as Kennesaw State's Emma Schurfranz was named Atlantic Sun Volleyball Player of the Week, while Kourtney Brown is this week's ASUN Setter of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. This is the first weekly honor of the season for Schurfranz, and the fifth of her career. Brown meanwhile collected her second career Setter of the Week accolade.

Schurfranz, a senior right-side hitter from Louisville, Ky., led the Owls to a 2-0 week with two straight 3-0 sweeps that moved KSU into fourth place in the ASUN standings. She collected a team-high tying 22 kills for the weekend, an average of 3.67 per set, and held a team-best .459 hitting percentage (22K-5E-37TA). In Sunday's win over North Florida, she posted 22 points thanks to a game-high 15 kills, two blocks and two digs. Even more impressive, she notched a career-high six aces, tied for fourth-most ever at KSU in a game and tied for the most-ever in a three-set match as well.

Brown, a freshman from Birmingham, Ala., averaged an impressive 12 assists per set in the back-to-back home victories. She notched 35 assists in the 3-0 win over Jacksonville on Oct. 27, and added 37 along with six digs in the victory over UNF. For the weekend, she also posted three kills, two service aces, and two blocks as well.

NEXT TIME OUT: The Owls will begin a stretch of three straight on the road, starting with a Friday, Nov. 3 contest at FGCU in Fort Myers, Fla., in a 7 p.m. contest. That will be followed by a Saturday, Nov. 4 match at Stetson in Deland, Fla., with a 6 p.m. start.
