A FEW NOTES
♦ The Owls are the surprise of the league as they are currently tied for first place with preseason favorite Liberty. While the Flames were expected to be in this position, KSU has climbed to the top despite being picked eighth in the preseason coaches' poll.
♦ KSU is not only the hottest team in the ASUN with a league-best six-game win streak, the Owls are also tied for 12th in the nation for both the longest active win streak and the longest active home win streak, a KSU record 11 straight.
♦ The Owls routed Austin Peay by 27 points on Thursday night, extending the school record for wins in a season to 16 (Division I era). The previous high was 14 in the 2016-17 season, and there are still nine games left in the regular season.
♦ Lipscomb has a decided advantage in the all-time series between the two teams, and in fact have won the past 12 meetings including last year's 77-73 contest in Nashville on Jan. 22, 2022. The last win for the Owls was a 73-57 victory in Nashville on Feb. 25, 2016.
♦ Through the first nine games of the ASUN schedule, the Owls have been one of the top offensive teams in the conference. In ASUN games only, KSU currently ranks first in field goal percentage (50.6%), second in scoring (80.1 ppg), assists (16.1 apg) and scoring margin (+9.2), and is third in three-point percentage (37.3%).
