KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball starts off a two-game homestand on Thursday night, as the first-place Owls are hosting a White Out against Austin Peay at 7:30 p.m. in the Convocation Center. All fans are encouraged to wear white to the game while the first 1,000 fans will receive a free White KSU t-shirt. The game is part of a double-header with the KSU women's team, who hosts North Alabama at 5 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
A FEW NOTES
♦ KSU is in a tie with preseason favorite Liberty for first-place in the league at 7-1, though Eastern Kentucky and Stetson are close behind at 6-2. The Owls already have wins this season over both EKU (home) and Stetson (overtime win on the road).
♦ The Owls gained national attention this past Saturday, after holding off FGCU 65-63 for a record-setting 15th victory of the season. That's a new program high for Kennesaw State in its Division I era, as the previous high was 14 in the 2016-17 season, and there are still 10 games left in the regular season.
♦ After snapping double-digit home win streaks at Stetson and FGCU a week ago, the Owls look to defend their current 10-game home win streak.
♦ This will be the first-ever meeting between Kennesaw State and Austin Peay in the sport of men's basketball, as the Governors' joined the ASUN at the start of the 2022-23 season.
♦ Through the first eight games of the ASUN schedule, the Owls have been one of the top offensive teams in the conference. In ASUN games only, KSU currently ranks first in field goal percentage (51.2%) second in assists (17.1 apg) and scoring margin (+7.0) and is third in both scoring (79.6 ppg) and three-point percentage (38.0%).
