BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team secured a 5-2 win over Samford at the Samford Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
KSU (3-0) collected the doubles point and four singles wins to secure its second consecutive win in the series.
The Owls won the doubles point with a pair of victories on courts two and three.
Kevin Patel and
Anthony Weingarten downed Matthew Gooch and Yerrassyl Murat 6-2.
Hugo Salmeron and
Harvey Conway slipped past Santiago Arredondo and Harrison Williams by a score of 6-4 to give the Owls a 1-0 lead.
Conway continued his strong start to the early season with a 6-1, 6-1 win over J.B. Pickard. Salmeron beat Maxwell Giddens 6-4, 6-3 to move the Owls lead to 3-1. Weingarten clinched the victory with a 7-6 (9-7), 7-6 (7-2) over Darcy Nichols. Tezuka closed the match with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 win over Santiago Arredondo.
