KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team collected a 6-1 win over Gardner-Webb on Sunday on the Betty Siegel Courts. The match was the Owls (4-0) eighth consecutive home win dating back to last season.

"For whatever the reason, we got off to a very slow start in the doubles but we did a good job of playing with confidence at the end to get the doubles point," Director of Tennis Matt Emery said.

KSU collected the doubles point and five singles wins to secure its third consecutive win in the series over the Runnin' Bulldogs.

The Owls took the doubles point with a pair of 7-6 wins on courts one and three.
Harvey Conway and
Hugo Salmeron downed Numa Lemieux-Monette and Victor Putter 7-6 (7-4) on court one.
Kevin Patel and
Anthony Weingarten slipped past John Spring and Cathal Butler 7-6. (7-2).

"All six guys did a really good job of staying focused and just competing and taking care of their courts in singles," Emery said.

Seru Tezuka defeated Sebastian Harris 6-4,6-0 to put the Owls ahead 2-0. Patel bounced back with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Numa Lemieux-Monette. Weingarten clinched the win for KSU with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Kim Neithammar. Salmeron needed three sets to slip past Alex Lepine 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.
David Leon lost his opening set but won the final two sets to close the match with a 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 10-7 win.
