KENNESAW, Ga. – Allanah Blye finished with a program-record 16 saves, but Kennesaw State fell 2-0 to Liberty on Sunday afternoon at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
Liberty attempted nine shots in the first 25 minutes, but Blye kept the Lady Flames off the board with eight early saves. The Owls countered with four tries of their own, but none were on-target.
LU struck first in the 26th minute after the ball ricocheted off the right post and Bridie Herman scored off a Grace Spade assist to go ahead 1-0.
Aly Bryan nearly tied the match up midway through the second half after dribbling through the defense and striking a ball from almost 30 yards out, but Liberty's Ainsley Leja made an excellent stop.
The Flames added a goal with just under six minutes left to put the match out of reach, 2-0.
Blye's 16 saves on the day broke the program-record 13 set previously by Ashley Zambetti at Georgia back on Sept. 11, 2016. Macie Rainwater and Bryan led the KSU offense with two shots each, and Bryan finished with the only shot on goal.
