ATLANTA, Ga. – In only his second career game, Kennesaw State linebacker
Juandarion Silas was named the ASUN Conference Freshman of the Week. The award marks the first ASUN accolade for Silas and is the first for KSU on the season.
Silas added five tackles (four solo) and one tackle-for-loss on Saturday against 2021 College Football Playoff semifinalist Cincinnati. The freshman also forced a fumble for the second straight game which turned into three points for the Owls.
The linebacker is the only freshman to record a start for the Kennesaw State defense this season. On the year, his nine tackles (eight solo) rank third for KSU and his two forced fumbles are tops on the team.
Silas and the Owls will be on a bye this week and prepare for its home opener at Fifth Third Bank Stadium against Wofford on Saturday, Sept. 24 with a 6:00 p.m. kickoff. The Owls hold a 3-0 lead over the Terriers in the all-time series, including last year's 31-10 victory in Spartanburg, S.C. Click
