KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State men's basketball has signed its third transfer for the 2022-23 roster, as 6-11 center Yves Nkomba will be joining the Owls with three years of eligibility, KSU head coach
Amir Abdur-Rahim announced on Wednesday.
"My staff and I are excited to add Yves to our program," said Abdur-Rahim. "First and foremost, we absolutely love the young man that he is, one that is both high character and stellar academically. Yves has a high level of humility and thankfulness for those who care for him. As a player Yves will make an immediate impact on our program. At 6'11 his ability to impact the game on the defensive end will give us a dimension we haven't had in our program. Offensively he fits our style of play in every way. Nkomba is originally from Leeds, West Yorkshire in England. He first played in the US for Impact Basketball Academy in Las Vegas before signing with Paola College, where in 2020-21 he helped the Ponies to a 14-7 record and an appearance in the Region XIV Quarterfinals. Nkomba played in 14 games with five starts at Paola and averaged 1.4 points and 1.9 rebounds per game while shooting 43.8% from the floor. He also paced the team in blocks with 1.9 per game.
This past season, Nkomba played in 28 games and started one game at Three Rivers College. He averaged 1.6 points and 1.6 rebounds per game while knocking down 42.9% of his field goal attempts. Nkomba also added eight blocks for the Raiders, who advanced to the Region XVI Semifinals and posted an 18-11 overall mark.
He becomes the fourth overall signee to join the Owls for 2022-23, joining previous spring transfers
